The Sunshine Coast Yacht Club is privileged to have the famed and experienced Race Officer Ross Chisholm as our Principal Race Officer for the 2016 SCOR (Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta) Regatta.
Ross comes with an impressive resume:
He has been an International Race Officer since 1996 and spent the last several years as PRO at all the major events in Asia, including the Koh Samui Regatta;
He is one of the most experienced race officers in Australia, having great success officiating at many major sailing regattas in this country including the Airlie Beach Race Week in the Whitsundays;
He has contributed to the sport of sailing through his role at Mackay Yacht Club as Rear Commodore, promoting sailing to beginners through various projects including ‘Come and Try Sailing’ and ‘Social Sailing’;
He has also conducted many Race Management seminars for members of various yacht clubs including the Sunshine Coast Yacht Club which the writer attended and greatly enjoyed!
With Ross Chisholm’s guidance the 2016 SCOR series is bound to be a great success!
